The Role

The People & Culture Officer will assure adherence to Oxfam’s policies and procedures, ensuring effective payroll processing, final payment processing, medical claim management, timesheet and absence management, staff & volunteer contact management, PSHR data management. This also includes supporting the People, Culture & Organizational Development team in recruitment, personal file management and other HR operation and support services, as required.

An ideal candidate for the role will be / have:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, preferably, with a concentration in HRM
  • Minimum 03 years’ full-time working experience in core HR functions in NGO/INGOs
  • Sound understanding of Bangladesh Labor Act and human resources best practices, policies and procedures
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel and proficient in other MS Office applications and Office 365
  • Verbal fluency and a very good writing proficiency in both English and Bangla

In addition, it is desirable that the ideal candidate for the role will be / have:

  • Minimum 01-year experience of working in HR in Emergency/Humanitarian Response
  • Good understanding of Income Tax Ordinance 1984 and Income Tax Act 2023
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an approachable working style, sensitivity to the needs of others
  • Willingness to travel to sub-offices within Country as an when required
  • Ability to work both within a team as well as independently, with minimum supervision
  • Sound understanding of Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
